(I think it is nice to have your story, Natalia :-))

Given that the page is about de Andre and not about me, I think I'll omit the touching story of me finding out about de Andre exactly a year after his death and being completely in love with his poetry now for over 10 years. This spring I was visitng my Genovese friend - and it turns out that his family knew the de Andres, to the extent that in the small family party there was an old man who did the drums with Faber, when he was just starting.... That, of course, moved me deeply - to the extent of getting off my a** and actually doing some work (hope to do more, though). This October I am having a presentation of my 2nd poetry book and I am arranging for the translation of Inverno to be sung during the presentation - really hope it works as well in Russian as it does in Italian.

Fabrizio de Andre (18 Feb 1940, Genoa - 11 Jan 1999, Milan) - Italian poet and song writer. To date, there are very few translations of his poetry into Russian. The ones below have been made by Natalia Crofts (Pershakova), Russian / English poet, http://www.stihi.ru/avtor/natashacrofts.
